We will be changing our appointment system from Thursday 1st December 2022 in order to improve access to GP appointments and manage the volume of phone calls.
All of the “on the day” appointments will now be available every morning from 8.30AM, meaning there will be no further option to call at 2.30PM for afternoon appointments.
Morning clinics run between 9AM – 12.00PM and afternoon clinics from 14.00 – 18.00. Please state a preference between AM or PM, otherwise these will be allocated according to the time of booking. A telephone triage is offered with the exception of some symptoms.
Call handlers have been trained in confidentiality and instructed to ask about the brief reason for the appointment to get help from the appropriate clinician at the right time frame. There will still be pre-bookable routine appointments, but in the event there are no further “on the day” appointments available and you feel that you need urgent medical attention that is not life threatening, you may be signposted to 111/ urgent care centre/ walk-in centre/ pharmacy.
If you are not calling about booking an “on the day appointment”, please do not call until after 10AM.
